How to Measure Your Van for Racking
Accurate measurements help you choose van shelving that fits cleanly and leaves enough space to work from the load area.
Measurements to take
- Clear side-wall width: measure the usable straight run where the shelving will sit.
- Available height: measure from the van floor to the lowest obstruction such as roof ribs, windows or handles.
- Usable depth: check how far the racking can project without blocking doors, walkways or the space needed for tools and materials.
- Wheel arch position: measure both the arch height and how far it sits into the load area.
Check existing fittings
Allow for ply lining, floor kits, tie-down points, trim, lighting and any aftermarket equipment already in the van. If in doubt, send the van make, model, year and rough load-space measurements before ordering.
