Dimensions at a glance

All sizes below are overall dimensions. Internal openings and usable compartments depend on the panel layout.

888Camper furniture comparison · dimensions in millimetres
Furniture Width × depth × height Construction and layout
Compact open shelves 500–1200 × 200 × 200 mm 18 mm plywood; eight widths at 100 mm intervals
Larger open shelves 500–1200 × 300 × 300 mm 18 mm plywood; eight widths at 100 mm intervals

Two shelf depths, eight widths and a consistent design

Choose from widths of 500, 600, 700, 800, 900, 1000, 1100 or 1200 mm. The compact shelves are 200 mm deep and 200 mm high; the larger shelves are 300 mm deep and 300 mm high. Width, depth and height are overall furniture dimensions, so allow for the panels and shaped front when checking whether a container will sit inside.

Every shelf uses 18 mm plywood with a natural wood appearance. The curved fixed front has a lower central scoop for access, while the top and back remain open. The same basic design across the range lets you compare sizes without switching to a completely different style of storage.

When to consider a 200 mm-deep shelf

The 200 mm format is the more compact option where furniture projection matters. It is worth assessing for smaller containers and everyday items close to a kitchen or seating area. Its 200 mm overall height also helps you compare the shelf against windows, trim and other features in the finished interior.

Measure the containers you already use rather than assuming a standard mug, jar or box will fit. Check the front opening as well as the outside depth. A narrow shelf can work well for a small group of items; choosing a wider version may be more useful than adding depth if the available wall space allows it.

When the 300 mm-deep format makes sense

The larger format adds 100 mm to both depth and height compared with the compact design at the same width. It offers a larger overall compartment to consider for bulkier containers. The trade-off is a greater projection into the van, which matters near seats, beds and walking routes.

Use a cardboard outline to check the full 300 mm depth at the planned height. Look at the space from a seated position as well as while standing. The largest shelf is 1200 × 300 × 300 mm, but the widest size is only useful if the entire length fits the finished wall area and remains accessible.

Open shelving or a cupboard with doors?

An open shelf makes contents visible and easy to reach. A cupboard gives items a defined storage space behind doors, but needs room for those doors to open. Think about which arrangement fits the job rather than using the same furniture everywhere. For example, accessible containers near the worktop and separate cupboard storage can serve different daily routines.

Our overhead lockers are 250 mm deep and high, placing their outside dimensions between the two shelf formats. They have two top-hinged doors and a centre divider. The storage planning guide compares open shelves, overhead lockers and NOMAD cupboards across the range.

Understand the kit before planning its position

Each shelf consists of four CNC-cut plywood panels and is supplied flat packed with assembly hardware and an illustrated build guide. The open back means the surrounding interior remains part of the storage arrangement. Check the finished lining and intended mounting area before choosing where the shelf will sit.

The curved front helps define the compartment, but loose contents still need appropriate restraint for travel. Vehicle-specific mounting fittings, tools and accessories are separate. Before you choose your furniture

  • Measure the usable wall width after trim and other furniture are allowed for.
  • Choose 200 × 200 mm or 300 × 300 mm depth and height.
  • Check container dimensions against the compartment and access opening.
  • Allow for the open back, mounting position and restraint of contents.

Your questions answered

What is the smallest campervan shelf?

The smallest overall size in this range is 500 mm wide × 200 mm deep × 200 mm high. There is also a 500 × 300 × 300 mm version if you need a larger compartment at the same width.

Are these shelves supplied assembled?

No. They are flat-pack kits containing the pre-cut plywood panels, assembly hardware and an illustrated build guide. You assemble the shelf and arrange the appropriate vehicle-specific mounting separately.

Do the shelves have doors or a rear panel?

No. These are open storage shelves with a fixed curved retaining front, an open top and an open back. For storage behind doors, compare our overhead lockers or NOMAD cupboards.
