The 888Camper NOMAD range gives you a choice of two plywood kitchen units: the 1100 mm-wide kitchen pod and the shallower 900 mm-wide slim unit. Choosing a kitchen pod for your campervan

A camper kitchen pod brings worktop space and cupboard storage together in one furniture unit. It can form the main preparation area in a self-build conversion or replace a less practical storage arrangement in an existing camper. Start with what you need to put away: pans, food containers, plates and cleaning supplies all make different demands on cupboard access.

Our NOMAD kitchen units have plain worktops and open backs. They are furniture kits supplied for assembly, with no sink or appliance cutouts. This gives you a clear starting specification when planning the wider conversion. Check any proposed appliance separately; a kitchen pod name does not mean a cooker, sink, fridge or water system is supplied.

NOMAD 1100: a deeper kitchen footprint

The NOMAD 1100 measures 1100 mm wide, 550 mm deep and 850 mm high. Its three cupboard doors and four fixed internal shelves offer several places to separate kitchen equipment. The broad, plain worktop has rounded front corners, while integrated finger pulls keep the front simple.

Consider this model when your measured floor plan can accommodate a 550 mm-deep unit and you want a larger worktop footprint. Mark its front edge on the floor and check the remaining passage beside a bed or seat. Make sure there is room to stand at the unit and open its doors when the rest of your furniture is in use.

NOMAD 900 Slim: preserving room beside the kitchen

The NOMAD 900 Slim measures 900 mm wide, 310 mm deep and 850 mm high. It has two cupboard doors, three fixed shelves and a plain worktop. Compared with the NOMAD 1100, its overall depth is 240 mm less and its width is 200 mm less. These are differences in the furniture footprint, rather than a promise of fitment in a particular van.

A shallow unit is worth considering where the kitchen faces a seat, bed or narrow walking route. Compare the objects you want to store with the internal layout shown on the product page. Overall dimensions describe the outside of the furniture; they are not the dimensions of each shelf compartment.

Plan the worktop, access and surrounding furniture together

Use a measured sketch to show the finished wall lining, floor, wheel arches and any existing services. Check the available depth at worktop height as well as at floor level, because a van wall may curve into the space above the unit. Include the route through the sliding or rear door when deciding where to assemble and position the furniture.

A campervan shelf can add accessible storage nearby, while an overhead cupboard creates a separate storage area above the floor. Plan these positions together so opening one door does not block another. Keep the worktop useful by giving frequently used containers a defined home.

What is included with a NOMAD kitchen kit?

Both kitchen models use 15 mm plywood with a natural wood appearance. Each kit includes the pre-cut plywood panels, all hardware required to build the unit, including soft-close hinges, and an illustrated build guide. Assembly is required. Vehicle-specific mounting fittings, tools, appliances and accessories are separate.

Choose your preferred model below to see its current price, images and full specification. If a measurement is unclear, send the model name and a sketch through our contact page before ordering. For a smaller kitchen footprint, our compact kitchen guide explains how to compare the 310 mm-deep unit with the rest of your layout.

Before you choose your furniture

  • Measure the finished space: width, depth and worktop height.
  • Mark the front edge and check cupboard-door access beside your bed or seating.
  • List the kitchen items you want to store and check the internal layout.
  • Identify any separate appliance requirements before planning worktop alterations.

Your questions answered

Do the kitchen pods include a sink or hob?

No. The NOMAD kitchen units have plain worktops with no sink or appliance cutouts. Appliances and their associated equipment are separate. Confirm your appliance dimensions and installation requirements before making a layout decision.

Are the hinges and assembly fittings supplied?

Yes. All hardware required to build the NOMAD unit is included, including soft-close hinges, along with the pre-cut panels and illustrated build guide. Vehicle-specific mounting fittings and tools are separate.

Which kitchen pod will fit my campervan?

Choose by the measured finished interior. The NOMAD 1100 is 1100 × 550 × 850 mm and the NOMAD 900 Slim is 900 × 310 × 850 mm. A van model name alone does not confirm that either unit will fit.
